Amigos, Amigas y Seres Queridos,
Como muchos de ustedes saben, nos enfrentamos a otro obstáculo importante que tiene nuestros corazones en nuestras manos. Exactamente hace un año, Cristina Lozano estaba luchando contra el cáncer. Hello family, friends, and loved ones:
As many of you may know, we are faced with yet another major obstacle that has our hearts in our hands. Not too long ago, Cristina Lozano was fighting against cancer. Fortunately, through the work of many doctors and the help of everyone, she was able to fight it and is now in remission. But now she is faced with yet another obstacle. Not with herself, but with her husband.
Daniel Lozano was fighting for his life. He has suffered a ruptured artery in his face. One of the most dangerous places to rupture an artery because it's so difficult to access. Consequently, it caused his lungs and stomach to be filled with blood.
While in the hospital, the doctors have been doing their best to control the bleeding by inducing a coma (since coughing and straining has kept the artery from closing) and performing multiple surgeries. After a serious of complications he also developed pneumonia and grew a fungus in one of the lungs. As a result from all this, his lungs are weak. Doctors are faced with a ruptured artery, pneumonia and fungus on one of the lungs.
We understand that this will be a lengthy recovery. It will be months and maybe even up to a year until he fully recovers. Unfortunately, he will not be able to go back to his profession, and his wife has had to take a Leave of Absence from her employment. It's a sacrifice he's going to have to make so he can stay healthy and something like this will not happen again.
Please understand that we wouldn't have come to you all if it wasn't urgent. With your help, we can give family Lozano a break from all of their recent tragedies.
We hope to overcome this obstacle once again with you all so that this family can have a break. We hope to give Daniel another chance at starting a new life.
