Danielle's Kidney Cancer Fund
On December 17th, 2014 Danielle went to Sparrow Hospital with some stomach pain that had been causing many problems in the previous weeks. The Dr. ordered an abdominal CT and ultrasound to figure out what was causing the pain. Come to find out the stomach pain was the least of our worries. The tests revealed a cancerous tumor on her left kidney half the size of the organ itself.
The ER physician reffered her to a specialist (Urologist) who then scheduled a Laproscopic Partial Nephrectomy. The surgeon will be surgically removing both the tumor itself and half of the left kidney, with hopes to spare the rest of it if possible. We won't know for sure the type of cancer until it is taken out and sent to pathology. Once the reports come back, we will know what kind of further treatment Danielle will need.
Having this surgery alone will put her off of work for six weeks, (in that she needs no further treatment) leaving her incapable of any income for her monthly expenses, medical bills, and nursing school loans.
