After spending yet another day pounding the pavement looking for a job I find myself ready to sit down and write this. In the last few months I have found myself thinking about starting a GoFound me account several times. In fact I have sat here a few times starting to write something out. What had stopped me every time was my pride. My pride has gotten in the way of me truly seeking God in this situation. Psalm 10:4 “In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God”. I have stopped and given this to God and a He has told me not to sit still so I am still going out and handing out as many resumes as I possibly can but He has also told me to get over my pride and ask Him and others for help.
I have never been one to ask for help. It’s not that I look down on people that ask for help; in fact I look up to them and think that they are way braver than me. I can see just how much strength it takes to ask for help hence why it has taken me two months to get to this point. Many times in the Psalms we see David cry out to God in his weakness. I need to be more like David. So here it goes….
I am asking for your help. Whether it is through financial aid or prayer I would greatly appreciate your help. I had found a job here in October working in a cafe and loved that they were teaching me new things in the world of baking. I was looking forward to coming back to the cafe after Christmas at home but unfortunately when I got back they no longer had hours for me. So I am back to punding the pavement looking for a job.
You may be asking yourself, “What exactly is she doing in Australia?” Well I am attending Hillsong International Leadership College and to be honest it is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I am learning and being stretched so much here. Being able to go to college and learn about leadership and God’s word is amazing but being able to live it out in church is such a blessing. I have been stretched in my leadership more than I ever thought possible. Having come from a job where I was already leading people I thought I had it all figured out, but oh was I wrong. I love that the leaders here have so much faith in us that they place us in situations where we have nothing else to do but step up. In the year and a half of being here I have been able to sept into so many amazing opportunities that I could have never imagined on my own. Other great areas that I get to help in are SHINE, where we are helping women find their worth and empowering them. I am currently doing my practicum with College in the area of pastoral care and get the amazing privelage of leading a team that takes care of the college body. I have become a new women in the short time that I have been here and am the happiest and healthiest I have ever been.
I know that I am meant to be here for 3 years and I know that God will provide for me but I am asking that you join Him with this. I would like to thank those who have helped me get this far and Thank You so much for taking the time to read this and for all of your prayers and support.

Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds. Praise be to his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen Psalm 72:18-19
