Hello Friends.
My brother, Daniel, who turns 43 this month, has been battling colon cancer since late June 2017. The cancer was detected after Dan became very ill when an abscess infection formed on the exterior wall of his sigmoid colon. After antibiotics and lathroscopic draining of the abscess failed to improve his condition, emergency surgery was performed to remove the diseased portion of his colon.
Unfortunately, there were some complications that prevented the doctors from being able to remove all of the diseased tissue. During the operation, it was noticed that the colon and bladder were adhered to one another with the cancerous tumor acting as the "glue".
During the next 6 months of healing from the ordeal, Dan visited with 3 colorectal surgeons, 2 medical oncologists and 1 radiation oncologist. The consensus is that, due to the involvement of the bladder, it is likely that most or all of the bladder will have to be removed after radiation and chemotherapy has been administered.
After researching alternative therapies, Dan decided to pursue a relatively economical natural form of chemotherapy known as high dose intravenous vitamin C. To compliment this therapy, Dan is taking Laetrile (Vitamin B17) orally and has also adopted a highly alkaline, vegan diet.
The cost for each high dose intravenous vitamin C
treatment is $200 with three treatments per week for the next 4 months.
As with most naturopathic treatments, Vitamin C therapy is not covered by standard medical insurance. Therefore, Dan is appealing to the good graces of friends and family to help him through this struggle.
He begins this intensive, naturopathic chemotherapy treatment this week and will be out of work while undergoing this procedure.
