Dearest family, friends, and all supporters of big dreams,
With as much pride as humility, I am overjoyed to inform you that I have been accepted into the prestigious Miami Music Festival 2018 Opera Institute Apprentice Program! This apprenticeship will allow me the opportunity to be part of a grand-scale production with a full orchestra, study and train with a world-renowned faculty from the world’s leading institutions, and help fine-tune my operatic skills by equipping me with the tools I need in order to be successful in my career as a vocalist.
I can confidently say that my strengths as a vocalist lie in my passion for performance, intonation and sensitivity, and thorough understanding of vocal literature. As a performer, it is equally important to have enough self-awareness to recognize areas in which one needs additional support. For me, this area is applying my knowledge and skills toward characterization. The Miami Opera Institute Apprentice Program will help me to lower my inhibitions and, therefore, perform on stage to the best of my abilities. If enough funds are secured in the next few weeks, I will have the honor of playing Cherubino in Corigliano’s The Ghosts of Versailles.
I am a product of what many of you have contributed along the way with countless forms of support, guidance, encouragement, and love. All of this has resulted in my recent Vocal Performance graduation from Houston Baptist University. Words cannot express my deepest appreciation for the teachers who have offered me more than an education - mentoring and coaching me during my time at Houston Baptist University. My graduation marked the beginning of continuous vital training for me to grow as an artist.
I am writing to you today in hopes to spark your generosity in exchange for everything I can offer you as a singer. To celebrate the achievement of such a huge goal of mine, I would like to host a series of private concerts for all of my wonderful contributors as a gesture of my gratitude. I look forward to sharing my passion for music with all of you, and I hope that you can help me to continue to do so.
