Daniela's Road To Recovery

Donation protected
On November 15th, 2017 Daniela Uriarte was in a car accident that left her in a coma for over a month. After many prayers and a great deal of waiting, she was able to open her eyes after Christmas around December 29th, 2017 and she finally murmured her first words in March 2018. The incredible hope and anticipation of the moment has been followed by an immense struggle, and is one we are fighting faithfully. She is still unable to walk and is dependent on a wheelchair, but we have hope that with the right equipment she can make a full recovery. Her injuries are extensive, including traumatic skull impact, severe brain injury, a fractured pelvis, multiple rib fractures, a broken collar bone, and she also had to have part of her skull removed temporarily due to the severity of brain trauma and swelling. This fight is winnable, but there are some serious obstacles, and these obstacles will get smaller with your help to defray the immense costs associated with Dani’s recovery. The first major expense involves purchasing an exoskeleton ( http://www.indego.com/indego/en/home ), which is crucial for rehabilitating Dani’s muscular system. Also this cutting edge intervention has proven to help patients immensely by rehabilitating patients even in dire condition, and Dani needs daily physical therapy to ensure she recovers her mobility. Right now she has physical therapy about three times a week, but needs more support  to ensure she can regain her ability to walk which is her primary focus right now. We are also hoping to contribute to the costs of her medical bills, and all donations are a priceless investment in Dani’s very bright future. At the moment of the accident, Dani was a senior in high school, and her first goal is to go back and finish her senior year and have the normal graduating experience we all want. But her goals don’t stop there as she is also dreaming of becoming a psychologist or lawyer and helping others reach their own potential, so every step closer she gets to recovery is one step closer to having a beautiful and wonderful person in the world who will make life better for all of us. Dani was also accepted into all major universities in Arizona including Arizona State, and the University of Arizona.
