<div>My husband of 20 years (started dating in 2004) and he has 7 children all together Amanda, Devon, Jaden, Aaron, Dallas, Dylan and Dani. Amanda 35 and Devon 32 don’t belong to me but they sure are beautiful people. Me and my husband have 5 together Jaden 22, Aaron 20, Dallas 18, Dylan 10, Dani 9. He loves all his children so very much, Dylan our 10 year old has autism and was really close to his dad and is having the hardest time. He misses his daddy because they were so close and he is having panic attacks so I would like to get them into counseling. In February 2025 he started complaining of knee pain over and the next 2-3 days the pain radiated to all over his body to the point he could barely walk we went to the family doctor got bloodwork X-rays and she said that I had to take him to the er because his blood work was showing abnormalities. So he went 2 times to the emergency room because the first time he went he waited 9 hours so he came home and I asked him what had happened and he started getting confused I know my husband we’ve been married 20 years so I know when something is wrong. So I put him to bed and about 3 am he tried leaving the house in his underwear and housecoat to go McDonald’s so I called the ambulance and went with him to was at our local hospital in Surrey for 3 weeks with no diagnosis they said that his bone marrow biopsy could take 2-4 weeks to get back!!!! So they finally decided to send him to Vancouver General Hospital because they suspected leukemia as soon as I heard that word it was like all the air went out of the room and I was was hyperventilating but finally he sent to VGH he was put on s ventilator a form of life support because his oxygen went down he had pneumonia They did a bone marrow biopsy that day and the next day got the results and the soon started chemotherapy.So he was on life support for a 3 days. He got moved to the BMT/ leukemia ward they kept him there for a while until his immune system  came back and he was officially in remission but he was so weak so he got sent to G.F. Strong rehabilitation centre. He was there for a month learning how to walk.  He came home in May. He had weekly appointments at BMT day care. So he got stronger and healthier then 2 months after being home his oncologist/hematologist said that he should get a stem cell transplant that could cure him/more years or it could shorten his lifespan make the leukemia come back faster so he decided to try to do anything he can and do the stem cell it was supposed to be 4-5 week procedure but his blood wasn’t rising like it was supposed to then he got pneumonia and put on life support again! I got a cold and he was in isolation so I was not allowed to see him until I got better, by the time I got better he was moved back to the leukemia ward. Eventually his blood counts started to rise and was home in September 2025. We kept going to his appointments 3 times a week, which consisted of bloodwork as soon as we got there wait for the results and if he needed platelets or red blood cells he would get those done and hour and a half for the red blood cells to infuse and and and 1 hour for platelets to infuse sometimes he would need both and they can’t be done at the same time. I was his caregiver along made sure he ate right got his pills at the right time cleaned him up and I am not saying this for sympathy but because I love him so much and I had so much faith that he would get better. So I started noticing his blood counts were not going up anymore I know something was wrong but I convinced myself that this is normal because I was so scared. Early October they scheduled a bone marrow biopsy for a chimerism test (to see how many donor cells are in his marrow) 95 percent were the results and I was ecstatic about that number. We went home and a couple weeks later he slowed down on his eating till he stopped eating so I called his team he asked me to bring him in asap and he said see you later to his children and gave them all hugs and he would be home soon. So we got there and they scheduled another bone marrow biopsy and he asked me to stay and hold hold him. So of course I stayed and held him and I heard the dr say there’s no marrow only scarring! Ugh so the admitted him got his results back 2 days later and they came in and said the worst things I never wanted to hear. His Acute Myeloid Leukemia relapsed and the worst of the worst “there’s nothing we can do for him… I would give 2-4 weeks left!” So he was always strong and more worried about me. But by that point he was getting more confused and delusional so I am not sure if that was a blessing in disguise because I would not want to be thinking that I only have 4 weeks left. He was in so more pain and getting worse. So day in day out I had to watch the love of my life deteriorating to the point of his body looking like he was beat (because lack of platelets) 2 days before he died he was unresponsive. But the last words he had ever uttered to me “I love you babe”. He died on November 18 at around 9-9:30. I was there at 10 am on that day and me and my son and step son decided to leave around 8-8:30 to put our little ones to sleep and we missed his passing. They called at 10pm and I thought it would be a little easier knowing that he would eventually pass would make it easier but it hasn’t and all I want to is stay in bed and cry and feel sorry for him and our family! But I can’t my little ones need a present parent and I have to make arrangements and his poor mother just buried her husband less than 2 months ago and her little sister died 2 years ago and now this! Plus his Dad has leukemia as well but not as aggressive. Please pray for her and our family Even if you can’t give anything!
