Mi nombre es Daniel Osiewala Jiménez, soy un compositor murciano de 25 años y estoy buscando ayuda económica para completar mis estudios de máster. Recientemente he sido admitido en Berklee College of Music para estudiar un máster en composición para cine, televisión y videojuegos. Berklee es una de las escuelas de música más prestigiosas del mundo, conocida entre otras cosas por ser cuna de compositores de Hollywood como Howard Shore (El Señor de los Anillos) o Ramin Djawadi (Juego de Tronos), y me han ofrecido una beca de 18.000 dólares para estudiar en el campus alojado en el Palau de las Arts de Valencia durante el próximo curso 2022/23.
Haber llegado hasta aquí ya es de por sí abrumador para mí, pues esta escuela representa una oportunidad única para entrar en la industria cinematográfica como compositor de bandas sonoras. Este es el sueño que he estado persiguiendo desde que era un niño y ahora estoy más cerca que nunca de conseguirlo; tan solo se interponen entre mí y este master los 27.000 dólares restantes para pagar la matrícula.
Actualmente trabajo como profesor de armonía, análisis musical y composición en varias academias de música, además de componer y producir música por encargo en mi tiempo libre, todo ello con el objetivo de ahorrar para costear mis estudios y los gastos de manutención en Valencia. Desgraciadamente, mi sueldo, junto a la ayuda que mi familia puede brindarme son insuficientes para hacer frente a una suma de estas proporciones. Hemos intentado acudir a los bancos, pero recibir un préstamo para estudiar es una tarea imposible dada nuestra situación económica, especialmente en bancos españoles. Por otra parte, las becas que cubren los gastos de matrícula de universidades americanas, como las becas Fulbright o La Caixa, no son accesibles cuando estas universidades están localizadas en España, a pesar de que Berklee es una escuela americana.
Es por esta razón que me he visto en la necesidad de recurrir al crowdfunding. Mi objetivo es recaudar 25000€ que estarían destinados íntegramente a cubrir la matrícula del máster. Soy consciente de que la magnitud de esta cifra puede resultar surrealista, pero estoy dispuesto a luchar por este objetivo a través de todos los medios disponibles. De forma paralela a este crowdfunding estoy llevando a cabo una campaña de financiación mediante de la búsqueda de patrocinadores locales y nacionales, concursos y becas compatibles con mi circunstancia, además de mis empleos y proyectos personales.

My name is Daniel Osiewala, I'm a 25 year old composer from Murcia (Spain) and I'm looking for financial support to complete my master studies. I have recently been admitted to Berklee College of Music to study a master's degree in Scoring for film, television and video games. Berklee is one of the most prestigious music schools in the world, known among other things for being the birthplace of Hollywood composers such as Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings) or Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones), and they have offered me a scholarship of $18,000 to study at the campus housed in the Palau de las Arts in Valencia during the next academic year 2022/23.
It feels overwhelming to have made this far, as this school represents a unique opportunity to enter the film industry as a soundtrack composer. This is the dream I have been pursuing since I was a kid and now I am closer than ever to achieving it; only the remaining $27,000 to pay the tuition stands between me and this master's degree.
I am currently working as a teacher of harmony, music analysis and composition at several music academies, as well as composing and producing music on commission in my spare time, all in order to save money to pay for my studies and living expenses in Valencia. Unfortunately, my income, together with the help that my family can give me, is insufficient to cover such a large amount of money. We have tried to reach out to banks, but receiving a loan to study is an impossible task given our financial standing. On the other hand, scholarships that cover tuition fees at American universities, such as the Fulbright or La Caixa scholarships, are not suitable for my case as Berklee Valencia campus is not located in the US even though it is an American school.
It is for this reason that I have found it necessary to resort to crowdfunding. My goal is to raise €25,000, which would be used entirely to cover the tuition of the master's degree. I am aware that the magnitude of this amount may seem surreal, but I am willing to fight for this goal through all available means. Crowdfunding is just one of these means, so I do not expect to reach the goal through this platform but any donation will be of great help. In parallel to this crowdfunding I am carrying out a funding campaign through the search for local and national sponsors, contests and scholarships compatible with my circumstances, in addition to my jobs and personal projects.

Już sam fakt przyznania mi miejsca , jest dla mnie ogromnym przeżyciem, ponieważ ta szkoła daje unikalną możliwość wejścia do branży filmowej jako kompozytor ścieżek dźwiękowych. Jest to marzenie, za którym goniłam od dziecka, a teraz jestem bliżej niż kiedykolwiek, by je zrealizować. Do jego spełnienia brakuje mi “jedynie” 27 000 dolarów do opłacenia czesnego, które wynosi 45 000 dolarów.
Obecnie pracuję jako nauczyciel harmonii, analizy muzycznej i kompozycji w kilku akademiach muzycznych, a w wolnym czasie komponuję i produkuję muzykę na zamówienie, wszystko po to, by zaoszczędzić na studia i koszty utrzymania w Walencji. Niestety, moja pensja wraz z pomocą, jakiej może udzielić mi rodzina, nie wystarcza na pokrycie tak dużej sumy. Próbowaliśmy zwrócić się do banków, ale otrzymanie kredytu na studia jest zadaniem niemożliwym, zwłaszcza w bankach hiszpańskich. Z drugiej strony, stypendia pokrywające czesne na uczelniach amerykańskich, takie jak stypendia Fulbrighta czy La Caixa, nie są dostępne, gdy uczelnie te znajdują się w Hiszpanii, mimo że Berklee jest szkołą amerykańską.
Z tego powodu uznałem, że konieczne jest skorzystanie z crowdfundingu. Moim celem jest zebranie kwoty 25 000 euro, która w całości pokryje koszty czesnego za studia magisterskie. Zdaję sobie sprawę, że wielkość tej liczby może wydawać się surrealistyczna, ale jestem gotów walczyć o ten cel wszelkimi dostępnymi środkami. Crowdfunding to tylko jeden z tych sposobów, dlatego nie spodziewam się, że uda mi się osiągnąć cel za pośrednictwem tej platformy, ale każda darowizna będzie bardzo pomocna. Równolegle do crowdfundingu prowadzę kampanię finansowania, poszukując lokalnych i krajowych sponsorów, konkursów i grantów odpowiadających moim warunkom, a także mojej pracy i projektom osobistym.
