Daniel Goes to Oregon!

Meet Daniel! Daniel is a 4 mos old catahoula puppy who was born deaf and blind, due to merle to merle breeding... a condition known as “double merle.” He is an absolute love who loves people and other dogs. He is a happy playful puppy who is so so smart.  As the owner of a deaf and blind double merle catahoula, I am all too familiar with these dogs and how the right family can transform their lives. Our dog, Pearl, lives an amazing life and we want that for Daniel too!
Daniel’s story is a lot like Pearl’s too. When he was born different, the people who bred him wanted to “cull” him (kill him) but a neighbor intervened and brought Daniel to Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary (RFAS.) As the transport coordinator for RFAS, along with our director Mary Rose, we determined that Daniel would be an excellent candidate for transport. Transport allows our island dogs to find amazing forever homes on the mainland. 
Daniel has been accepted by an incredible rescue in Oregon. We have decided that it’s in Daniel’s best interest that I travel with him to ensure a smooth and easy transport. As an experienced handler of deaf and blind dogs, I’ll be able to meet his foster family and answer any questions they have. 
Your donaions will help fund my travel, Daniel’s travel, and a rental car. RFAS does not have the funds for these expenses at this time. Any surplus donations will go to RFAS. Please help us help this special little dude!
