Estamos increíblemente entristecidos al anunciar el fallecimiento de Dania Méndez de Guerra, querida madre, esposa, hija, hermana y amiga.
Dania solo tenía 21 años y le sobrevive un hijo pequeño, un devoto esposo y una familia cariñosa tanto en los Estados Unidos como en casa en El Salvador.

We're incredibly saddeneded to announce the passing of Dania Méndez de Guerra—beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend.
Dania was only 21-years-old and is survived by a young son, a devoted husband, and a loving family both in the United States and back home in El Salvador.
Dania was a permanent resident of the United States who left El Salvador in January 2017 to build a new life for herself and her family in the Washington, D.C. area. She was determined to work hard and assist in providing for her son, who had just turned 4-years-old.
Dania worked long hours as a food-preparer at the KFC/Taco Bell Restaurant on University Blvd. in Wheaton, MD. She often worked quite late and, as her family did not own a vehicle, would typically make the short 7-minute walk home after work.
Shortly after midnight in the early morning of Monday, November 6th, Dania left work and began to make her way back home. She never arrived. With the help of her family and friends, the Montgomery County Police conducted a massive search over the next several days in the hopes of finding Dania safe and sound and returning her to her family.
Unfortunately, early in the afternoon on Friday, November 10th, Dania's body was found hidden near the path she usually took home. Her life had been taken from her, and from the family and friends who adored her. The Montgomery County Police are conducting a murder investigation and we regret that we do not have any further information at this time.
My name is Kimberly and I'm a relative and friend of Dania's sister, Celia. Dania's family asked for my assistance in setting up this fundraiser and all of the money raised will go directly to Dania's husband, Jose. Dania's family hopes to use the funds to provide for the return of her remains to El Salvador and for a proper funeral and burial there.
To the hundreds of people who've expressed concern for Dania's well-being over the last several days: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We hope you'll consider donating to assist Dania's family in bringing her home to her mother one last time.
