Dani's Medical Care Fund

If you have ever met Dani, you know that this girl is one tough cookie. Dani was born with non communicating hydrocephalus. This condition has been a trial that is life long. She has had to endure 68 brain surgeries to hope to find her some relief from the daily struggle this condition causes. Because of her extensive surgical history, it makes finding a neurosurgeon to help her very difficult. No one wants such a high failure rate patient. Dani has short term memory loss as a result to several botched brain surgeries, and is no longer able to work. For her to be able to be awarded disability, she had to hire an attorney and fight for two years. She had to testify to a judge about the hardship this condition has caused her for her entire life. She wasn't able to graduate high school because of how often she was hospitalized. She wasn't able to go to college. She has had to shave off her hair so many times we stopped counting. Dani knows her body at this point. She knows her shunt that helps stabilize her condition is malfunctioning. She drove to California to see her neurosurgeon that has helped her the most, only to be met with "everything looks fine" she has been sent to several other specialties and hospitals trying to find help, and no one will help her because of her extensive medical history. She cannot eat, she cannot get comfortable and she is in agonizing daily pain. Now she and her loving boyfriend are driving to Georgia to try and get help at a larger hospital system. We are campaigning for financial help because our loving Dani is struggling.  She lives on a very meager disability check and traveling to find help is not only causing her physical stress but also emotional. She needs to know that she can afford groceries, fuel and the basic necessities of life. Unfortunately nothing can be done to cure Dani's condition. Our best hope is that we can get her a shunt that at least allows for her to live some semblance of normalcy. At this point her days are spent trying to cope, trying to stay strong. She cannot do the normal things we all get to. She doesn't get to enjoy days at the lake, or hikes. She doesn't get to wander the mall with friends or go out to dinner. She is stuck, and she needs help . Please consider helping our sweet Dani. She is kind, loving, forgiving and generous. She loves hard and is everyones best hype girl.
