Dani’s Brazil Adventure
I will preface this post and admit that this is WAY out of my comfort zone as I am stubborn and do not like to ask for help or seek sponsorship. But, competing in a CrossFit Sanctional is what I have poured my blood, sweat (a lot of sweat), and tears (probably more tears than sweat!) into for the last year.
After what seemed like an eternity, I received an invitation to compete in the 2020 Brazil CrossFit Championship that will be held March 6-8 in São Paulo, Brazil. I knew God had bigger plans for me after I became ineligible to compete as part of a team in 2018 due to graduate school rotations, but I never thought it was going to be this grand.
Any money raised by this campaign will go directly towards registration for the event, airfare, housing, and food for Coach Derrick and myself while we are in Brazil. Competing with the one who means the most to me by my side is the mission.
Also, Derrick and I will be feeding the homeless on Christmas this year in downtown Portland where homelessness has become an enormous crisis. This has never been about getting a free ride to Brazil - so in order to make this less about me, I would like to donate 10% of the funds raised by Christmas to feeding the hungry (funding the meals and monetary donation to Because People Matter, a non-profit we have volunteered for that provides clothes, food, medical assistance, haircuts, and resources to the homeless).
