Hello everyone - it's me, Kennedy!
Dance is poetry with your body and as most of you know, I have been dancing pretty much my whole life. I started formal training when I was just three years old and have been doing it ever since. One day, I saw a poster at my studio of an Alvin Ailey dancer for the first time. She was a beautiful brown girl leaping in a bold red dress with an amazing head of hair and energy that jumped off the page.
I said to myself, "I wanna be THAT girl"!
Fast forward to today...a little over 10 years have passed and look...I have been accepted to the Alvin Ailey Junior Division Summer Intensive Program in New York City!! I'm so excited about the possibility of this training and what this will mean for me and my dance career. I know it's the opportunity of a lifetime and I am thrilled and ready to go for it!
So I'm asking you to help me, please.
I have created this site for raising the funds I will need for my Ailey Summer of 2014. New York is a big city and it is going to be a bold adventure. I am asking you to contribute generously as you can but just know that ALL contributions given will help me and they ALL are appreciated. For some, this may be a great leap of faith but hey, leaping is just what we do!
So thank you so much for your support, prayers, well wishes and donations! Summer will be here before I know it and it's going to be awesome! I am grateful to take you right along with me for my beautiful summer's dance in NY!
