Dance Floor for Mooresville Middle School

Mooresville Middle is  excited to add/offer our first ever dance class. Students will learn various styles of dance as well as the theory of movement and choreography. This class will be offered to both 7th and 8th graders and will be taught by a licensed dance teacher.

In order to give our students the safest environment possible for this dance class we will need to purchase and install a special floor. This floor will cost around $18,000.00 to purchase and have properly installed.

This dance class will allow us to introduce the world of dance to both male and female students. With local dance studios sometimes out of reach to our students due to transportation or cost this will enable us to provide dance instruction to many students otherwise unable to participate outside of school. This also helps with SHAC or Safe and Active Healthy Child by creating additional movement opportunities for our students during the school day. Dance also helps to instill discipline, healthy living, and creativity.

With the introduction of our new amazing performing arts center at Mooresville High School we feel this dance class can be a stepping stone to an amazing future in the world of dance. We also feel that this dance class will help us be more competitive on a global level as well. With dance being a universal language the sky is the limit for possibilities.

We can only do this with your help. Please share this with everyone that you know. Any amount helps.
