Thank you for taking the time to view this page. Let me begin by explaining a little bit about my father Daniel. He's known to most as 'Big D'. His size is the obvious reason he earned this moniker, but almost everyone that knows him can tell you that he has a big sense of humor and an even bigger heart.
My father lives in the Atlanta, GA area and is a truck driver by trade. Several months ago, while on the job, he was involved in an accident. No one lost their lives thankfully but he did not walk away unscathed. Unfortunately my father suffered a major knee injury during the ordeal. Needless to say he was unable to work and while workman's comp WAS paying him a VERY small amount of money, he is not making nearly enough to pay for his bills. Months later, stressed out, still out of work, and before he could be cleared for knee surgery doctor's found that he had 3 major blockages in the arteries to his heart and was at high risk of a fatal heart attack. He immediately needed to go in for a bypass surgery.
The surgery was successful but due to complications, and several more invasive procedures he was comatose for nearly 3 weeks. Within that time, his wife-to-be Karen has been by his side and working part-time to try and alleviate some of their debts but is having a very hard time making enough money to pay bills.
Which leads us into today. Currently Daniel is in a rehabilitation facility. Both him and his wife are close to being evicted out of their home, their car repossesed, no means to keep food in the house, and debt piling up every single day. Dan is trying to get better so that he can get cleared for knee surgery and hopefully get back to work. But in all honesty we don't really know how long this recovery is going to take. And with the stress of financial burdens continuosly stacking up my father continues to be stressed and upset which impedes him from getting better and puts him at a higher risk for more heart complications.
We humbly turn to you; family, friends, and the good patrons of GoFundMe, and we're asking for your help. I have started a page to try and raise enough money for him so that bills can be paid and financial burdens are put at bay until he can make a full recovery. This situation is urgent. We know how financially stressful this time of year can be for everyone with the holidays right around the corner, but if anyone reading this could make a small donation we could reach our goal of raising $5,000 which should be enough to help my dad pay for bills and expenses, get through this recovery, get approved for his knee surgery, and get him back on the road to recovery.
