Dan Arendas' Battle with Cancer

On August 17, Dan was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic pancreatic cancer, which means that the cancer has spread from the pancreas to other parts of his body, namely the liver. He has had several events which have delayed the start of his chemotherapy treaments. Those treatments have been scheduled for Friday, September 15. 

He has received overwhelming support from his family and friends from here in North Carolina and across the nation. His family sincerely appreciates all the kind words of encouragement and offers of assistance. This GoFundMe page seeks to assist his family a step further by receiving any donations that will help with medical costs, food...anything that will make their lives a little bit better through this difficult time. Regardless of whether or not the $1,000 goal is met (the GoFundMe site states that a standard donation goal is $1,000), their family would not care whether it was met...just knowing that there are so many people that care for his well-being is good enough for them. 

His wife Christie has also set up a Caring Bridge site (www.caringbridge.org/visit/danarendas), where she gives updates on Dan's journey and where you can post your thoughts and words of encouragement.

Please keep him and his family in your prayers, and here's hoping he beats the odds and ends up with us for many more years to come.
