Well fuck, maybe we knew that having that much fun was gonna cost some money...
Every year with your help, your meticulous organizers spend hundreds of hours organizing, planning, building, and tearing down this enormous project we call Miso. One of the things that I (Baby Grandpa) spend a TON of time on is the budget. It takes a lot of effort to properly track this massive and expensive project that costs as much as a brand new 2022 Hyundai Sonata, and I think I do a pretty darn good job. However, there are expenses that are hard to predict, such as the amount of water we end up using, the amount of fuel we burn, how many paper plates we forgot to buy, etc.
Anyway, long story short is that we went over budget by $1,842.33. We're asking for your help to raise $1,911 to cover that debt plus the GoFundMe fees we can't avoid.
If you'd like to know more, here's our main budget breakdown. If you'd like to take a look at the whole budget, please message me and I'd be glad to direct you to the giant Notion app I built that tracks our expenses.
Total expenses: $25,922
Individual purchases/line items: 106
Main expenses:
- Generator: $3,511
- Water: $3,660
- Food for build: $1,500
- Grey water: $1,262
- Trailer transport: $1,250
- Trailer storage: $600
- Fuel for generator: $360
We spend the rest of our money on incidental costs, new projects, upgrades and repairs, and yearly consumables such as miso paste, sake, tape, zipties, paint, shade cloth, lag bolts, new tool batteries, etc
Additional expenses, in no particular order:
- Camp shade: $2,667
- Sake: $838
- Miso: $338
- Renters insurance: $138
- Propane: $97
- Food permit: $50
- Etc
Please consider donating $50 or more to help cover those who are in financial burden. We'll consider restructuring how we do camp dues and fundrasing next year so we're not in this same position. For now, please help Baby Grandpa out so he doesn't cover the whole cost of the Burn.
