On October 31st , we lost an amazing man far too soon.

Damian Holden, who had just turned 38 two days earlier, passed away suddenly, leaving behind his devoted wife Vikki and their three beautiful children — Darice, Alfie, and Riley.

Damian was a kind, gentle giant with a heart of gold and a wicked sense of humour. A proud Army veteran, he served his country with courage during tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and continued to live his life with the same strength, loyalty, and generosity he showed his fellow soldiers.

Just four weeks ago, Damian experienced one of life’s greatest joys — becoming a grandad to his precious granddaughter, Ava. He was so proud, and his face would light up whenever he spoke about her.

He also had the privilege of seeing his son Alfie follow in his footsteps, recently passing into Harrogate AFC only last week. Damian was absolutely over the moon with pride, knowing his legacy of service and dedication would continue through his son.

Damian’s passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of everyone who knew him — especially his loving parents Bev and Russ, and his brother Daniel, who also bravely served and toured in Iraq. The Holden family’s bond and shared service to their country is a testament to their strength, courage, and love for one another.

Those who knew Damian will remember him for his warmth, his laugh, and the way he would always be there for anyone who needed him. Now, it’s our turn to be there for his family.

This fund has been set up to help cover funeral expenses and to support Vikki and the children as they navigate the difficult months ahead — including the added pressures of the cost of living and the Christmas season.
