Dale Funkhouser's Adjustable Bed

Dad was diagnosed in February 2017 with Stage 2 Esophageal cancer. He had his port placed on March 6th and started 6 weeks of chemo and radiation on March 13th. On June 5th , he had an Esophagectomy to have the cancer removed.  He is currently in ICU  for 2 days and will remain in the hospital for at least a week. He will have a feeding tube until he can eat without aspirating.  We are being told that he will be on a feeding tube for at least 3 to 6 weeks. He has a long road of recovery but he is a fighter and will do just fine. The purpose for this page is to raise money to help buy the bed that he will need for the rest of his life as he will have to sleep at a 30 degree elevation. 

A little history on Owen Dale Funkhouser..
At age 18 he had to have brain surgery to remove an abscess which left him paralyzed on the right side for a month. He was in rehab for a couple of months. He regained movement on his right side but lost the elasticity in his right ankle which causes him to drag his leg. To most that know him personally would say they don't even notice because he refuses to let it slow him down. 
He has worked a physical job for 42 years despite his ankle. Raised 3 kids and maintained a beautiful marriage for 43 years. 
He would never ask for anything and has always been willing to help anyone out.
