Dakota’s Cancer Fund

I’m creating this fundraiser for my sister, Niki, to help with the cost of chemotherapy for her 5 year old American Pit Bull, Dakota. 

In the midst of this pandemic, Niki lost her small business, and has had no income for several months. She’s one of the many awaiting to receive unemployment, a stimulus check or any type of government assistance to help keep her head above water during this difficult time. As if things weren’t financially difficult enough, she received even more devastating news this week.  

Early this week, Niki noticed Dakota had swollen lymph  nodes all over her body, so she took her to the vet for testing. The results weren’t good. Her Kody Girl was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer and was  given a life expectancy of 6 weeks if not treated with chemotherapy immediately. 

Many of you know, in the short 5 years that Dakota has been alive, she has had to undergo THREE ACL surgeries, gets monthly shots for severe allergies and requires a special diet to help with her skin/allergy issues. Now this poor baby has to go through chemotherapy! Despite going through so much, she is genuinely the sweetest dog. She always wants to cuddle and is all wiggles and happy whenever she sees you. The pictures speak for themselves.

I know Niki will not say anything or ask for help when she truly needs and deserves a break, because she prides herself on being independent. I believe we need to support each other and lift others up in a time of need. I’m asking that if you have any money to spare, please help her pay for this treatment. This is a devastation nobody should have to go through, and I would truly appreciate your help. I know she would, too.
