Dakota//Emergency Fund

Friends,

I'll try to keep this short and sweet:
My name is Dakota, I'm a queer, non-binary, disabled witch living and working in Brooklyn with my partner and our two cats, Handsome and Dahlia.

I work for a cosmetics company full time but have not been able to work steadily for a few months due to my disabilities (fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis and more) as well as my lovely stint in the hospital after an emergency appendectomy and the ensuing complications. 2016 saw multiple hospital stays and quite a few scares but I made it through (with the help of so many of you) and I'm stronger for it.

Of course this means that I have fallen so far behind that catching up seems impossible.

bottom line:
The court has ruled and I have to come up with $10,799 by March 10th.
I submitted $2,500 on 3.1
My tax refund is $2,200 and I'll be receiving it any day now.
Which means I have 7 days to come up with $6,099.

I am terrified.
I am in pain.
I am exhausted.

2016 beat me down and showed me that you cannot receive help if you refuse to ask. So, the last shred of my pride is here for you to see.

-for those concerned, my living situation is 100% sustainable and affordable from here on out, it's only the back rent that is the problem.
