Dakota Porter- Pedal for Pat Support Team

Born & raised in Oviedo, FL, Dakota attended the University of Central Florida and received a bachelor's degree in Health Sciences - Pre-Clinical. She thoroughly enjoyed continuing her love of water polo during her time with UCF Women’s Water Polo as team captain and competing at the national level with her teammates. After graduation she went on to coach water polo and swimming for her local high school for 3 years. She is currently finishing up her doctorate in physical therapy at South College and is on her second clinical rotation at Onward Knoxville with Dr. Taylor Comford.

When Dakota is not in the clinic she loves spending time with her dogs, on bike trails with her fiancé, and being in the CrossFit community. She enjoys fly fishing whether it be in the FL saltwater or the NC rivers. After graduation she hopes to join an outpatient physical therapy team who is dedicated to their communities health and fitness.

Pedal for Alzheimer's, originally know as "Pedal for Pat," was co-founded in 2017 by Josh Crisp and Michelle Brooke-Marciniak. The 1,098-mile cycling event was created to honor the legacy of the late University of Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summitt who died of Alzheimer's in 2016.
