Hello, Snow Dog Sanctuary is on a mission to bring two mama dogs and their puppies to Vancouver from Nunavut. We are working closely with their Inuit owners and do have their consent. These two sister dogs (Dakota, Simba) are approximately 1.5 years old. Dakota has a litter of six puppies that are just a few weeks old and Simba will travel pregnant.

Given the dog population in their community, these dogs won't survive if they don't travel south. We understand the dog population issues in northern parts of our country and don't judge it, but we are always interested to work with owners who are interested to surrender their dogs. Both ladies will be fixed and vaccinated after their puppies are weened. All the puppies will be shopping for owners once they are weaned and one of the mamas will be looking for a forever home as well. There is a lot of logistics and cost involved for travel and vet care, and so we are asking for your help. Simba is the mother dog of Dakota we who also tried to recently help as he had been suffering from a gunshot wound (and so very sadly didn't survive his vet visit). If you or anyone you know can help us give these lovely pups a new chance at life it would be greatly appreciated. We will keep updates of our progress with their travel on our Facebook page.
