Help Dain Beat Cancer!

Dain needs our help.  Our beloved friend was recently involved in a brutal hate crime and attempted theft.  The attack left him unconscious and bleeding in the street.  Concussed, we all urged him to see a doctor.  This visit resulted in the discovery that Dain was severely anemic.  Concerned, Doctors investigated further, and made a dreadful discovery; Dain has a cancerous tumor growing in his colon.  To save his life, he will be undergoing  surgery this Tuesday, Sept. 4th, to remove the cancerous growth, surrounding lymph nodes, and a section of his colon.  Our heart breaks that he has to endure this. The good news is this cancer in treatable and Dain is ready to fight..... But he needs your help.  The surgery is invasive and intense, requiring no less than three weeks recovery.  After, he will likely have to endure several months of chemo-therapy and radiation.  Pre and post op, he will be living on disability (which we all know doesn't cut the mustard).  In addition, Dain's beloved roommate just moved out, and he's taking on double rent while in the midst of fighting the battle of his life.  So what can you do?  There are many ways to help.  After the procedure, he will be hospitalized no less than three days at CPMC in SF 2351 Clay.  Visits and all demonstrations of love and support are encouraged.  In the weeks that follow, assistance with shopping and house calls for company are a vital and amazing way to show up.  Lastly, if you can donate - even a small amount of money - to this campaign, you will truly be providing life saving support to our friend; helping with medical and living expenses while Dain recovers from surgery, then begins chemo/radiation, and kicks the ass of this cancer once and for all.  Let's show Dain he's not in this alone!
