Dad in need of $$ for Medical Exps

My Dad is one of the most amazing people I have ever met.  A couple of years ago he suffered brain injury, and now has to spend every day in a program suited to people with his issues.  They help him with his medications, meals, exercise etc.  It is an amazing support, however it is not free.  We now have an outstanding bill of $1600.  They have now taken ME to collections since I am his Power of Attorney.  He is on assistance and there is just no more money.  I have had the finances looked at again and again, and proven that I have not been negligent, but nobody seems to care.  My mortgage is up next year, and I can't have this blemish on my report.

He also needs an electric lift reclining chair.  He is a severe diabetic who fell, breaking one of his knees. They didn't notice it and he was misdiagnosed for over a year.  Since he doesn't heal fast to begin with, and was aggravating it for more than a year, he no longer can get in and out of chairs easily.  For this I am looking for another $3500 to get the side by side for company.
