Dad, husband, grandfather and friend!

On Thursday, November 29, 2018, while at home, my dad, Doug Hammons, suffered a massive stroke.  Dr. Adam Oliver performed emergency surgery to remove a blood clot in the carotid artery on the left side of my dad's brain.  Although the surgery was a success, dad has extreme weakness in his right arm and hand and he cannot speak at all.

Many of you who will read this probably shared memories with him, as he never met a stranger!  He is known for his kind heart, good sense of humor, life stories and friendship.  A lot of you experienced his generosity first hand....even though he only had three daughters, he helped raise a lot of kids!  He opened his heart and his home to so many of our friends growing up; employees who were going through tough times; and anyone who called on him for help. 

He is a warrior but he has to undergo a few more surgeries and tests and will have a long road of rehabilitation ahead of him.  As the sole provider for him and my mom this situation is going to drastically affect their lives.   This Go Fund Me account will assist with their rent, utilities, gas and groceries for the upcoming months.  I know the holidays are a tough time for many but anything will be greatly appreciated!
