Kassilina Schroeder grew up in Pocatello, ID.  She attended Idaho State University where she was Captain of the Cheer Squad and where she met the love of her life.  David was the star athlete of the Basketball and Track teams and she was his Cheerleader.  They got married and started a beautiful little family raising two little girls named Payleigh and Brailyn. 
In October, Kassi was diagnosed with AML, Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  They took action right away.  She underwent treatment and received a bone marrow transplant.  But on day 112, she relapsed. She then underwent a second transplant. She had been fighting so hard, but going into this second transplant she had 5% blasts in her blood and 20% in her bone marrow. After the second transplant her WBC and Neutrophil numbers continued to slowly improve.  Things were looking hopeful, but unfortunately on morning she woke up weighing 9 lbs heavier.  After tests, they confirmed that she was having liver complications.  These liver complications became liver failure and sadly contributed to ending her fight with leukemia.  On September 27, 2014 Kassi recieved peace.  
Kassi has been a motivator and leader her whole life and in the face of this challenge, she has become inspiration to many. In spite of bad news, she is always the first to see the glass half full.  Her spirit has stayed strong thoughout her whole journey. She is a fighter.  She didn't lose the fight with leukemia, she won.  She is now in heaven. Leukemia can not hurt her anymore.  The jokes on you leukemia.
