Aid for Aedyn

Aedyn Shank was born on Feb 17, 2014. He is diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, a rare congenital heart defect. He underwent open heart surgery at 3 weeks old to place a temporary shunt in order to push blood to his lungs. He became septic on discharged and was readmitted to Cincinnati Children's hospital where he and his mom stayed for almost 3 months to fight the infection. Aedyn had his "complete repair" on October 10, 2014 and was discharged just shy of a week later, doing so well. In January 2015 Aedyn's cardiologist discovered Aedyn's pulmonary arteries were severely narrowed and his right ventricle was working too hard. On January 23rd Aedyn had his first heart catheterization which discovered an aneurysm in Aedyn's heart as well as severe dysfunction of right ventricle and extreme narrowing of all of his pulmonary arteries. Aedyn was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary atresia and pulmonary hypertension. The most rare and fatal form of tetralogy of Fallot. On January 26th open heart surgery was attempted, but Aedyn went into cardiac arrest for 7 minutes and surgery was aborted. On January 29th Aedyn had his 3rd open heart where his conduit was replaced and his pulmonary arteries expanded. The surgery was not as successful as hoped and in approx 6 weeks from surgery Aedyn will have another heart cath to attempt to repair what they couldn't during open heart. He is fighting with all he has to survive this. We are hoping that we won't have to decide to have a transplant but things look like they are pointing in that direction. They now need help with bills, transportation to and from Cincinnati, hotel bills for when dad visits (only one parent allowed in room at night) and for food.
