Penny's Heartworm Fund

Donation protected
John and I have this amazing, wonderful, and loving dog named Penny. We (I) was a little bit afraid of getting a pitbull at first because of the stories in the media but those stories were squashed as soon as we met her. She is such a good dog, the best I have had.

Which brings me to my next point. John and I had never had a dog of our own so we went into this whole thing thinking we will just need to pay for food, toys and take her to the vet once a year for shots. When we took her for her yearly shots this year we found out how wrong we are.

Our sweet baby has heartworms.

When I heard that, my heart sunk to the floor. I felt like I was a failure as a dog owner. How did we not know that she had to get heartworm medicine every six months?

And just when I thought it couldn't get worse, I was told the price for treatment. 1,500 dollars. 1,500 dollars to make my baby healthy again. I just put my head in my hands and cried. What am I supposed to do?

So, that brings me here. If any of you know me, you know I hate asking for money and I wouldn't do it if it was for anything other than my baby but, she is my only child. I don't want to lose her.

Please, if you can help in any way possible, I would be forever greatful.

And Penny would too.
