On Sunday May 5th, what at first, I thought was a bad dream, was in fact reality, when I woke up to black smoke filling my house. I jumped out of bed and ran to get my family out of the house to safety. After getting my family outside of the house, I saw that the top section of my house had black smoke coming out the windows, so me and my neighbor rushed back into the house and up the stairs with fire extinguishers to put out the fire but the black smoke was too thick and we could not see anything. We ran down the stairs and waited for the fire department to come and thanks for the brave firefighters of Palm Beach County they were able to put out the fire.
After reviewing the damage with the fire department, my house has severe damage and it’s going to be uninhabitable until the damages can be repaired. I thank God that he protected me and my family from the fire and we all escaped without any physical harm. As an army veteran, I served this country to protect this great country for its freedom. Me and my family will be living in a hotel for the next few months until the house is repaired, but I feel a great sense of loss for my kids who lost all their toys, beds, clothes, furniture in their rooms, ect. If you can afford to help thank you, if you cant please just keep us in your prayers.
