Help Our Dad Kick Cancer To The Curb!!!

On May 25 2011 our family was hit with a blow that we never thought could have happen to our family. Our Dad was Diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Our Dad is 51 year old with a wife 3 children and 1 granddaughter. In March 2011 he was diagnosed with a gallbladder infection...in April, he went to another hospital where he was told it was stones. He had a plastic stent inserted to release blockage. Realizing that he was getting sicker, he went to Hackensack Hospital in May, they removed the plastic stent and inserted a metal one.He has a catheder attached to his gal bladder to avoid infections from this stent. Hackensack Hospital is where he was finally diagnosed with the shocking news of Pancreatic Cancer. Since his diagnosis he has undergone many rounds of chemo. The chemo has destroyed his veins and he now has a port in his chest for easy access to provide his treatment. He has lost 63 pounds in 8 months. He takes 16 pills a day along with 6 supplement drinks. In the past eight months he has been in the hospital 6 times, with all hospital stays lasting between 14 to 21 days. In between hospital stays he has had 4 ER trips. He has had a blood transfusion due to severe anemia. After chemo every week he has to recieve an injection for 4 days to help his bone marrow and to boost his red blood cells. He then recieves a different shot for his white blood cells. As you can see there is a great deal of medicine involved. Insurance does not cover everything and the medical bills are piling up, thru the roof. We've created this site to help with the funding for some of the costs associated with this horrible diagnosis. Although he is weak and tired he still has the attitude to fight this. In the past he has ran marathons, become a black belt in karate and also competed and won kickboxing competitions. He is a natural-born fighter. The cancer is taking a toll on him, but with the support of his family, friends and various supporters he can conquer this and kick cancer to the curb. We appreciate all donations. Words can not describe how thankful we are to have such wonderful people in our lives to help support to help our dad continue to be able to pay for the medicine that is keeping him here with us and giving him the ability to watch his baby granddaughter grow. Thank you so much for your generosity to our family. It means the world to us. Love, Mallory, Sammy Jr. and Nicholas
