Andy is 5 years old battling INFANTILE FIBROSARCOMA since he was 2 years old. Before diagnosis, he had formed a lump on his leg that was misdiagnosed at 9 months old more than once.
Andy has had several tumors in different parts of his body.
Andy is now in NYC being treated for trials at Ronald McDonald house from Arizona with his mom, dad and 1 year old sister. He also has a 2 year old sister back home in Arizona. The family arrived in NYC Jan 18. They came here for a clinical trial (laxo 195 ) for 2 weeks but those 2 weeks became months.
When they arived in New York, Andy’s tumor was growing in his lungs which he already had surgery in July 16 2017.
He had surgery again to remove the tumor in March and the doctor prepared them for the worse. They said Andy was not going to make it since the tumor grew so big it was compressing his lung and heart but his surgery went great. Andy had a scan and they came back clear but 2 weeks after surgery he started to have headaches which the scans showed the tumor had spread to his brain. One of the tumors was in the cerebellum which he had surgery on in April. He started radiation 14 rounds in June and they noticed a bump on his armpit the tumor started metastasized in the left 1 1/2 inch that is growing outward in the right it also shows in the scan there is something growing now the tumor is 10 x 9 1/2 on the left wich he constantly have paun and need to take pain meds around the clock.
As of right now both Andy’s parents are not working and being here in NY, they do not have the support they once had when they were back home in Arizona. They need help with food, medical and day to day life expenses. The 2 year old is back home in Arizona with the grandmother.
Please pray for andy and his family. There is a 50% survival rate in this pediatric cancer but Andy is already stage 4, stage 5. Most children do not live past 5 years old. Andy is 5 and fighting. We need a miracle!!
