Hello everyone,
If you are visiting this page it's likely that you've had the privilege of knowing a truly spectacular person, Kevin Kriston. Any time Kevin stepped into a room there was a joyful aura that followed him. Kevin's infectious smile, caring demeanor, and ability to carry the most riveting conversations were unparalleled.
With a heavy heart, it hurts to say that Kevin passed away on 8/17/14. When I first heard about Kevin's passing I experienced an intense state of shock, which was quickly followed by denial. I didn't understand how such a spectacular person can be taken from us at such a young age.
While speaking with some of Kevin's closest friends, we thought of what Kevin would have wanted us to do in such a situation. We agreed that helping the Kriston family should be the top priority. The pain we are all feeling is real, but surely it isn't comparable to the pain that Kevin's direct family is feeling.

You may be asking why Kevin's friends are trying to fundraise $7,045. The Kriston family not only has to bury a son and a brother, but they also have to pay for it. $7,045 is the median amount for an adult funeral (in 2012) according to the NFDA (http://nfda.org/about-funeral-service-/trends-and-statistics.html). It pains me to think that such an amazing family will have to even think about finances at such a tragic time.
Any amount will be appreciated. The money will be given to the Kriston family along with any messages. Help us show the impact that Big Kat had on all our lives.

Update #4: Woke up to $4,735 dollars raised in not even half a day. We have surpassed the two-thirds mark. Furthermore, Kevin's wake information follows: Family and friends will gather at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home, 9568 Belmont Ave. Franklin Park, on Tuesday, August 19 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Come show the love and support Big Kat deserves.
Update #5: Wow, we are almost at the initial goal of $7,045. Any donations that come after the goal is met will still be given to the Kriston family. We decided that the family will lose income from missing work among other financial needs, so any additional donations past the goal are appreciated.
Update #6: Thank you so much to everyone who donated. The amount of people who've donated and shown their support is amazing. We are keeping this page up until Friday, and we are compiling all the beautiful heartfelt messages into a single document that we can give to the Kriston family along with a check worth whatever our final amount is on Friday. -The Wolf Pack
