I know some of you are aware of the struggles my niece has endured over the last 6 or so years with her feet. When my now 22 year old niece Brittany was 15, she began having some serious issues with her feet collapsing, meaning the heels and arches were falling. They made an informed decision to attempt "fixing" the problem with implants. Unfortunately, the many surgeries that would follow have left her with pemanent nerve damage that her doctor (the specialist) has since told her there is nothing more he can do. Brittany is unable to work due to the amount of pain she is in on a regular basis. Most recently her leg keeps giving out on her and is causing her to fall. I know of 4 falls in the last couple of weeks 2 of which she ended up with a concussion. It is scary for me to think of her becoming seriously injured during one of these falls. Brittany wouldn't go to the fair this year, won't go to amusement parks, she can't last on her feet long enough to shop and can no longer safely take her dog for his walks. I was sad this year at the fair thinking about all the things she can no longer enjoy, when I had an idea about a scooter! I started looking at all the ones that were at the fair and thought "maybe this would help her". I took Brittany out on a surprise outing last week to look at scooters. She was a bit hesitant but after cruising around on one in the store and in the parking lot, I knew she'd be sold. Please help me in any way that you can in getting this 22 year olds life back!
