Austin's Army

Donation protected
I have started this to help out a very nice family going through something hopefully none of us will ever have to go through.  Austin is a 6 year old brother to one of my sons hockey teammates. I could try to explain, but I figure it would be best to share Austin's moms words that she shared with us.

"These past 2 weeks have been far from fun. It started out with what we thought was a sledding accident. Boys will be boys, right?!! Well, after a day at the waterpark for a weekend hockey tournament in the Dells... we ended up in the ER with Austin. X-rays showed a spot on his femur bone. Went to a orthopedic who then referred us to an orthopedic oncologist at Rush. We got in to see him quick and that’s when all the testing started. We got the news that Austin has Osteosarcoma. We finished up today with all the remaining tests at Rush. Still waiting on a few results but have a solid plan of action. Austin will start his tough journey Monday with surgery to get in a double port to start receiving his Chemo. He will undergo surgery to remove the tumor & part of the bone (replacing it with a prosthetic to grow with him) about 10 weeks into chemo. If things go as planned we are looking at 6-7 months."

No parent should have to go through the worry of this let alone the worry of once the medical bills start rolling in.  All funds will be going to Austin and his family to help take care of the medical bills.  Thank you for taking the time to read this.
