Newborn Lyla Needs Fighters!

Donation protected
Baby Lyla is a fighter, born into the world on 8/16 after her mother noticed she had stopped being the active baby she knew. Lyla may have been 3 weeks early, weighing 5 pounds, 12 ounces but she came out fighting. Cord wrapped around her neck she was immediately headed into treatment. This beautiful newborn proved to us she is a fighter, we just didn’t’ know how tough her fight would be.

Lyla was immediately rushed into intensive care with a heart rate over 260 (normal range for newborns is approx.180 and below). A line placed from her stomach to her heart and that’s where her family’s concerns began. The doctors began treating Lyla with normal medications and realized her case was more severe than what the hospital could handle and separated mom and baby by moving Lyla an hour away to a specialty clinic which could give her more intensive care. While Momma tried to recover an hour away Lyla’s fight intensified.

We thought by transferring her to a specialty clinic we would have answers. We now realize this isn’t the case. Lyla remains hospitalized and is considered the most critical in her specialty unit. Mom and Dad can only watch Lyla struggle as her heart concerns escalate anywhere between 260 to 290! Since 1:30pm on 8/18) Lyla, the fighter has endured 15 episodes/crashes and 19 Cold shocks. It’s terrible to see a newborn stationed right next to a crash cart for the next time her body starts to fail. Each time she has an episode/crash she is either immediately shocked with a cold treatment or injected with 3 different type of medications directly into her heart.

The family has requested to see a cardiologist, specialist, anyone who can help us. As of today, at 9AM who never showed. The family is still fighting for Lyla to be seen by someone who can give us some help and guidance, so far the best answer is to have her stay in the hospital and keep pumping her small body full of medications. The nurses are doing their best to provide care, but with Lyla’s unusual diagnosis they have a hard time treating Lyla with anything other than medications, more medications, and more medications.

The family has requested to move Lyla to an area where she can receive treatment and see a cardiologist or someone who can help. We keep getting told the cardiologist who can help her is in Oakland, SF, or UCL. Lyla is currently calling Walnut Creek her home since her first transfer.

We don’t know what the future will hold, if you can spare anything to help Lyla, The Fighter, in her battle we would greatly and whole heartedly appreciate it. We are committed to updating with pictures and her progress. Each day she spends in the hospital is an unexpected expense, but no matter what we want to see get the help she most urgently needs. If you can’t help, we understand, help can be as simple as forwarding this along to those who can to much needed prayers. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for listening, prayers, and any contribution. All the money raised strictly goes to Lyla’s hospital stay, her medications, and her extended required care. We do have Kaiser Coverage but the coverage will not cover 100% of her expenses and what’s needed in her best interest. Which is why we are seeking the help from amazing and incredible people. Please help if you can.
