Federal legal fees for peaceful protesting

Hi, my name is Alexandria. From when I was very young, I learned to take care of myself and others. I was raised to hate inequality, speak out for social justice, and teach my kids to do the same.  My fiance and I have worked to live by these goals. When we went to the Duval County Courthouse to join the peaceful protest for equality and against the current climate of excessive acts of police brutality the police arrested us both.  We were questioned by the FBI and during this interrogation, the FBI was seemingly intent to prove that the Black Lives Matter protest that my immigrant fiance was a part of was some kind of liberal AntiFa conspiracy.

Thankfully, we both were able to find a pro-bono lawyer, but Friday evening when we arrived home, the FBI surrounded our car, handcuffed me, and took him away all in front of our baby. They didn't let his lawyer talk to him then took him to jail. We have a great lawyer, but Federal Criminal Defense is very expensive if you want a private lawyer to fight for you. I have relapsing multiple sclerosis and do not receive disability.  I am now raising my infant and toddler on my own and working hard to help with my 5 year old step son while my partner is in jail.  We still owe 2500 for bail, and need to get the best lawyer we can.  Without childcare, the bills are very scary, and I do not know where else to turn. I hate asking for help, but I sincerely need it.  Please help if you can, however you can, even if that is just sharing this link and sending thoughts our way.  Thank you for taking the time to read.
