Council Family Start-up Fund

I am a single mother of two beautiful children, and I am on a mission to start a more stable and independent life for us. We have been through quite a lot in recent past, including deaths, illness, divorce, abuse, and homelessness. We don't need luxury, we just need security.
I am doing what I can to make more money personally, including searching for a better job and a higher education. These endeavors take time, but our needs won't wait.  
I just signed the lease for a new home to rent after a month of homelessness and uncertainty, and they will need $1050 up front. I am also applying to a Master's program at Indiana University for the spring/fall 2015 year. I need help covering our basic needs while I am in transition and I estimate that this first year will be difficult financially. By my calculations, I need at least an extra $750 a month, in additon to my current income, to be able to safely cover all expenses for this first year. The money will be used to purchase basic home necessities (i.e. washer/dryer, microwave), pay rent, utilities, insurance, food, clothing, start-up tuition fees, gas, and miscellaneous costs for my children during this first year on our own.
