The Anthony Vitullo Fund

Donation protected
In the fall of 2012, Anthony at the age of 21 was diagnosed with Acute Lympoblastic Leukemia also known as ALL. Through his journey at UPMC Shadyside, he has endured months of intense chemotherapy. Anthony received news in December 2012 from his doctors that he was in remission and was going to be released from the hospital. He was finally able to do the things he loved again such as hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. During the past two years, he has undergone regular bone marrow biopsies to ensure the leukemia has not come back. Unfortunately, his last biopsy results showed signs that the leukemia was back in his system. Anthony is undergoing another round of intense chemotherapy at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh, PA. Once he is back in remission, Anthony will need a stem cell transplant. His donor will need to be a perfect match, meaning that they will need 10 chromosomes that match Anthony's. After his transplant, he will be required to live near UPMC for 100 days so that the doctors will be able to monitor him. For Anthony's parents, the hospital and housing expenses that their insurance will not cover will be paid out of pocket. His family and friends will be by his side every step of the way. It is going to be a timely and costly procedure for him and his family. We are asking you to please help them in their time of need in any way you can. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and support that he has received through this difficult time.
