Please help a Covid patient in need of oxygen to make it through the day. We all know someone who has directly been impacted by the Covid crisis in India or has family/friends who are suffering. It has touched everyone and it is tragic.
Why we need to act now:
India is reeling under a shortage of oxygen supply and the situation is worsening with each passing hour. There is an acute shortage of hospital beds, meaning a majority of the patients are self-treating at home and in dire need of Oxygen supply. Hosptial wait lists are so long that patients know that the chances of them being treated at a hospital are minuscule. The problem with home treatment is that there is almost no availability of oxygen cylinders or concentrators for people who want to use one. People are dying waiting for a hospital bed with oxygen. Signs showing the absolute lack of oxygen are posted outside hospitals. It's an impossible and heartbreaking situation for those suffering and their families. This is a time for everyone to come together and help stop unnecessary suffering.
The need of the hour is to ensure that we augment the oxygen supply and medical infrastructure to resuscitate India.
Who We Are:
We are a volunteer group of family and friends who have been moved by the Covid crisis in India. We want to help and we want action to be taken now before another person suffers from an unpreventable death. We have been hearing firsthand how Covid patients are suffering at home with extremely low oxygen levels due to hospitals being at overcapacity. Oxygen has become a scarce resource and thousands are dying because of it. We have therefore initiated a fund collection drive to help those in need in India. We, as a group, have already made efforts and therefore the first leg of help is on its way to India; a shipment of 100 oxygen concentrators are already on their way to Ahmedabad, India. However, we are hoping to do much more and that's where your contribution would mean a lot.
How We Will Provide Oxygen to those who are in need:
We will be sending oxygen concentrators and other medical equipment to India as needed. The oxygen concentrators are being purchased in the USA from reputed companies. An average 5L/10L concentrator has a lifespan of 25K hours; it will be used on an average for 5 days per patient. Each concentrator will be able to serve at least 200 people in its lifetime. Hence, this is a more impactful and efficient substitute for oxygen cylinders which require constant refilling coupled with multiple logistical challenges.

We've all wanted to help with the desire for concrete knowledge that our actions will actually have tangible results and help real people instead of getting lost in a wave of red tape and bureaucracy. We understand that and feel the same way. That's why we've jumped upon this opportunity. The need could not be more real and acute and the solutions are straightforward. There is no waiting, there are no ifs or buts, the impact you will make will be immediate and apparent. We will dispatch the oxygen units from the USA and have a team of qualified managers, volunteers, and doctors to make sure the units are deployed to the neediest. We will have a qualified team checking the parameters of the patients to verify the need for oxygen and then will have reports checked by a team of doctors before they are given out. Two-layer verification will ensure fair and equitable distribution of units. The deployed units will also be tracked in real-time through a comprehensive application and sophisticated inventory management system. Units in use will be redeployed to other patients as soon as they can be so that they have the maximum reach. We will maximize the efficiency of our operations so that the potential to save lives is magnified.
Our Reach:
Our well-developed tracking and dispatch systems using state-of-the-art technology will mean that we will be able to send units to rural areas in Gujarat as well as other such areas across India. We will work with local village heads to ensure the proper use of these oxygen concentrators. We have made videos in the local language to help them understand how to use them.
