Michael Belizaire, a loving son, protective brother, hilarious uncle, loyal friend, a hopeless romantic and an American Veteran needs your help. Mike suffered a severe stroke on January 3, 2018 while visiting Colombia. On January 1st he was proposing to his girlfriend of 3 years and a few days later he was on a hospital bed, unable to talk, paralyzed on his right side, unable to eat or even sit up.

Although Mike is a Marine, served in Operation Desert Storm, voluntarily enlisted to serve his country, the VA Foreign Medical Program is denying coverage because he is not at a VA hospital. THERE ARE NO VA HOSPITALS in Colombia.

Although we are a family of faith, this crisis is weighing on us. Our mom, who will be 80 years old this year is currently in Colombia. We are so concerned for her! The stress of seeing and caring for her eldest son in the condition he is in, the stress of not being at home, let alone in a foreign country where she does not speak the language, as well as the financial stress is overwhelming for her. We are not sure how long Mike will be in the hospital. We are told that it will be a long road to recovery. We need to get him home.

Your donation along with the donation of family and friends is greatly needed since coverage was denied by the VA Foreign Medical Program. Your donations will go towards his hospital bills to ensure he continues to get the best treatment possible, travel back and forth to Colombia and rehabilitation. We are being told that he will not be cleared to travel for maybe another 3 months.
