Celebrating Mike's Life

Finding the love of your life is a blessing we all hope for. Some of us are lucky enough to find our soulmate, love them deeply and commit our lives to them. We plan our futures together, we raise our children, we laugh, we love, we argue, we cry, but in the end, we still love each other all the more. But sometimes, fate throws a cruel twist in our plans and takes away the most beloved parts. Our sister/daughter/granddaughter/step-mother/niece/friend found and fell madly in love with her best friend, they had their dream wedding this past April 2014, newlyweds and lovers for four steller months, until one afternoon when she arrived home to find that her love was no longer here. Recently, Mike had been ill. The doctors weren't sure what was happening and were treating him for various things. July 27, 2014 he was released from the hosptial after suffering a mild stroke and put on bed rest. April is a fantastic nurse, caring for others is what she does. Her skills allowed her the ability to care for Mike when he started getting sick (months before). But that also meant she had to take off work to do so. This put them behind. Mike was not only a wonderful and loyal husband and friend, he was a devout father to his sons, whom April loves very much. His son Joey, 18, is old enough to "understand" what is happening. Their younger son,Tyler, 6, not so much. I cannot imagine having to tell your child their father is gone. Mike, 38, passed away on August 11, 2014 in their home. My heart hurts for all of them. April has a long road to travel, much of it will be alone, working through and processing how much her life changed in just one moment. Now, on her own, she has so much to deal with, not only emotionally, but financially as she is now left with funeral service costs, hospital bills and a need to stabilize monthly bills which have multiplied during her time caring for Mike on her income alone. We are asking friends and family to help alleviate this one burden and donate what you can. If you know April or Mike, you know they would never ask on their own, but at this time more than ever, we need the love and support of our family and friends the most. We understand the amount listed is more than likely unattainable, but this is what was left on ONE person's shoulders, and any help whatsoever is absolutely apprreciated. Thank you all!
