"The Fight is On"

For most of you that know me, know who this amazing women is next me. That’s my loving sister Erica. She is a daughter, a sister, a mother and a wife. She has been my rock when I needed her most. The day that picture was taken, I graduated Nursing school and she surprised me by flying from South Carolina to NY to share this day with me. My sister brought me to tears, it’s a day etched in my mind. But what most of you don’t know is that she is my best friend, my sister, my soul... She is an amazing mother to 4 beautiful amazing kids that she would move heaven and earth for. She is strong, independent and determined. As tears flood my eyes with disbelief, I ask for your help. Last week Erica was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Although it was too soon to give exact information it was thought to be unstageable. This morning during her first of many Oncology visits she received the news it is Stage 2 Breast cancer. She will be out of work going through Chemo and Radiation, once that is complete she will require a bilateral mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.. The financial burden that has been forced upon Erica and Ricky will be too much for them to take on. I ask for your help to ease the financial burden being thrust upon them to help with medical expenses and to help care for her children during this time.
