Wonhee returned to the States from South Korea after serving compulsory military service in hopes of establishing a career and life here. He previously lived in Boston through student visas and returned in May 2014 on a tourist visa which will soon expire. Wonhee's endeavor to pursue citizenship has been interrupted and he urgently needs legal help. While trying to cross the Canadian border he was detained by immigration officers for a petty theft over two years ago of a book that he was not aware had not been expunged from his legal records.
He is currently being held in jail in New Hampshire where he can be legally held for two weeks in which time his visa will expire and he may be deported. If this were to happen it would take at least 10 years (if he ever were to be allowed back into the United States again). It is now extremely urgent to get him a lawyer before his visa expires to prevent this injustice from going any further.
