Hello!
My name is Sara Higgins and I am starting this donation page on behalf of my cousin, Barb Foster, daughter of Mark Dudek and Hope Bouliane.
On March 27, 2014, my 23 year old cousin admitted herself into the ER due to severe flu like symptoms. After minimal testing, the doctors admitted her into the Intensive Care Unit where the doctor's shared that she had Acute Renal Kidney Failure. After many tests and blood transfusions, it was decided by the doctors that she had ESRD, End Stage Renal Disease. Barb's kidney's were no longer functioning and she was told that in order to live, she would need to recieve a kidney transplant.

The doctors explained to Barb that in order to survive while preparing her body for a new kidney, she would need to do dialysis 3x a week in Michigan. While she is blessed to have a dialysis center in her small town, Barb still lives 350 miles away from her transplant team at The University of Michigan. Traveling to the University of Michigan for appointments with her transplant team has become financially impossible for her mother and sister. The other expenses Barb and her family are facing is the cost of her medicine and specialized diet. Barb's medical insurance does cover some things, but even with her coverage, her family has to pay upwards of $200 a month just for her medication. This doesn't include the medicine that will be required after the kidney transplant.
The financial realty of this journey is astronomical, and we're asking for ANY donation amount. All will help and we as a family would be incredibly thankful.
This has been a time to reflect on life itself, and I truly believe that God has a plan through all of this. His goodness radiates through all situations. Any and all prayers are welcome.
