Hope and Love for Danell

In January of 2011, our mom, Danell Williamson, was diagnosed with breast cancer.  It was caught early, but treatment was still needed.  That meant radiation and chemotherapy for over a year.  The side effects from the treatments were rough to say the least, but she found strength and courage and fought through to remission.

In 2013, Danell was diagnosed again with cancer.  This time the cancer had metastasized to her brain as three separate tumors.  The doctors could not do chemotherapy due to the location of the tumors but did radiation.  Once again, after the last radiation appointment, it was found that the tumors were shrinking and disappearing.

Last month, in July 2014, Danell was rushed to the emergency room with symptoms of what they thought was a stroke.  After several tests it was discovered that the tumors she had previously fought were not only coming back, but coming back stronger and more numerous than before.  She was given the news that they could not do any more radiation as it would kill the living part of her brain, they couldn't do chemo as it wouldn't affect the tumors, and they could not operate because of the location.  She was given three to six months to live, with paralysis as an eminent part of her future.

Although this news was heart wrenching, Danell has not given up hope and is still fighting to this day.  She is currently on various medications and supplements to help fight off the cancer.  She will also be taking the long trip to Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa for additional recommendations and/or treatment starting next week.

As you can imagine, the medical costs alone for treatment, doctor visits, supplements, and medication can cause additional stress where it is not needed.  Many have expressed a desire to help in any way they could.  Here’s your chance - a monetary donation of any size can help offset these mounting expenses.  Any donations will go directly to Danell for help with medical expenses through this tough journey.

Thank you for your generous support.
