Support children in Sri Lanka

I met this amazing man when he stayed as a student with me. He does unbelievable work for charities in war zones or natural disasters.  In a moment of weakness over a glass of wine, he has convinced me to go and help him with the most fantastic children's charity. The background to this worthwhile cause is heartbreaking and involves supporting children in Sri Lanka who were abducted and forced  into fighting as child soldiers by the Tamal Tigers. The charity builds schools to educate the children and helps them rehabilitate into normal lives and professions.

I am trying to raise a minimum of £6000 as this will be enough to build a school. I am very nervous as I have never been involved in charity work like this before and I am planning to go to Sri Lanka in September for two weeks initially with the President of the charity, Max (pictured above). This is real challenge for me for both emotional reasons and also preparing myself for the reptiles, insects and other dangerous creatures in Sri Lanka! The thought of the amazing work I will be involved in through this charity will help me through these personal battles.
