If you've had the pleasure of knowing Marge and Joe Stanfield, you know they shared love and life with everyone. Over the years their love, friendship generosity touched many. Recently they faced the biggest challenge of their lives. While traveling on a business and pleasure trip to Norway, on April 27 Marge had a major stroke in Bergen. She was in the hospital, mostly in the ICU until she passed away on May 26, 2017.
The care she received there was amazing. The Norwegians were incredibly generous and kind to them, and the nurses took a liking to them. Who wouldn't?
Joe's health isn't good either. His diabetes has left him with very poor vision, and without Marge he is lost. Thankfully his daughter Veronica was able to be with them in Norway this past month until she and Joe flew home.
The unbearable stress continues to deteriorate Joe's health as he has struggled to cope with what ultimately happened to his Lovey. The medical staff in Bergen had concernes for his health as well. Fortunately, he is now home surrounded by family and friends who provides the support he needs. He can also return to his own doctors care.
Joe will be unable to pay for these medical expenses without your help. You may not be aware, but Medicare doesn't cover medical expenses if one is out of the country nor does medicare supplemental policies. These medical expenses could be astronomical, and travel insurance will only cover $5,000 toward the expenses.
The looming expenses and unknown medical costs are weighing heavily on Joe. Your generous contribution will help take some of the stress off Joe as he copes with his loss.
