Callaloo is a literary magazine out of Texas A&M University. However, it's really more than that. One of the top 15 literary journals in the country, Callaloo is focused on the literature of the African diaspora and supporting young writers. Callaloo offers yearly workshops that are highly selective.
I have been accepted to attend their 2014 London session for a week in October, however, funding around the house is tight. As it is for Callaloo-- usually the program is free, but "it's the economy, stupid."
So, I need to pay for my flight, room, and board. A 'conservative' estimate is +/- $1800.
