Callaloo Writing Program

Callaloo is a literary magazine out of Texas A&M University. However, it's really more than that. One of the top 15 literary journals in the country, Callaloo is focused on the literature of the African diaspora and supporting young writers. Callaloo offers yearly workshops that are highly selective.
I have been accepted to attend their 2014 London session for a week in October, however, funding around the house is tight. As it is for Callaloo-- usually the program is free, but "it's the economy, stupid."
So, I need to pay for my flight, room, and board. A 'conservative' estimate is +/- $1800.
This is an amazing opportunity to expand my horizons as a writer and a person. And I really hope some of you can help make this dream tangible. More information on Callaloo's Mission Statement can be found here. And if you'd like to see the set of poems I submitted, they can be found here.
"What sense could there be in things? I have come through countries, centuries of difficult sleep and hard riding and still do not know the sense of things when I see it, when I stand with the pieces in my hands." (Anne Carson)
