About our project:
In 2019, students in St Joseph's Secondary School in Rush collected €14,000 worth of food to support the local division of the St Vincent de Paul. The students put together 365 fantastic hampers which were delivered to local families that needed a helping hand coming up to Christmas. That was 365 hampers for 365 families in our community.

Last year, the school community were hugely disappointed because we were unable to do our usual fund raising activity as a result of Covid-19...at a time when many families needed this help more than ever before. We were unable to bag-pack due to Covid-19 and this year is the same.

HOWEVER our students are not ones for shying away from taking on a challenge and they've really pulled it out of the bag this year with an online fund raising event that we would love you to support.

Every Wednesday, starting on 24th November 2021, for the next three weeks, our students will be holding a virtual busking session, that a dedicated group of students have worked on over the past number of weeks!

Our appeal will run for 3 weeks from Wednesday 24th November to Wednesday 15th December. With the money raised, we will be purchasing food and vouchers from local shops. These vouchers will be presented to the St Maurs Conference of the St Vincent de Paul for distribution to local families in the community.

As a guide, vouchers will equate to €50, should anyone wish to donate the cost of a full voucher, and help make Christmas that bit easier for a family. However, all donations, no matter the value, are most appreciated. We know it's not easy for everyone to donate this year, but if you can, every cent is most appreciated.

Please support our students, families in the community and local businesses. Every cent raised will go towards helping a local family this Christmas. This year is going to be a difficult year for many families.  Your donation can make it a little less difficult!

On behalf of all of the staff and students involved, we thank you in advance for your support, we hope you enjoy our performances and please share them using the hashtag #STJsings4SVP

Note:  We also welcome contributions from businesses, so if your business can support us for one or more vouchers we'd love to hear from you.

Note: this fundraiser is being organised by staff and students in St Joseph's Secondary School Rush where Mr Daragh Nealon is the Principal. It is being organised in aid of the St Maurs Conference of the St Vincent de Paul.
